5 common mistakes with Divorce Certificate (Kor Ror 6 / Kor Ror 7) — and how to avoid them
These are common problems with Divorce Certificate (Kor Ror 6 / Kor Ror 7) submissions. Checking them before lodgement reduces the risk of a request for further information.
1. Inconsistent name spellings across documents (passport vs. birth certificate) — usually requires an additional Statutory Declaration
2. Incomplete scans of the source document (missing back pages, stamps, or signatures), forcing a redo of the work
3. Submitting expired evidence (police clearance and medical certificates expire after 12 months)
4. Using a self-translation or non-NAATI translator — DHA and AHPRA reject these immediately and request a re-submission
5. Failing to translate stamps and signatures — DHA returns the file as 'incomplete translation'
Acceptance is decided by the receiving authority; a correct translation does not guarantee an outcome.
