5 common mistakes with University Degree Certificate — and how to avoid them
Across more than 12,000 NAATI translations we've seen the same five mistakes again and again with University Degree Certificate submissions. Avoid them and you'll usually pass on the first attempt.
1. Mistranslating Thai government terminology (e.g., translating 'Amphoe' as 'District', confusing it with Bangkok districts)
2. Incomplete scans of the source document (missing back pages, stamps, or signatures), forcing a redo of the work
3. Using a self-translation or non-NAATI translator — DHA and AHPRA reject these immediately and request a re-submission
4. Failing to translate stamps and signatures — DHA returns the file as 'incomplete translation'
5. Inconsistent name spellings across documents (passport vs. birth certificate) — usually requires an additional Statutory Declaration
NAATI Thailand runs a two-stage QC (translator → reviewer → final stamp). Our first-time approval rate is above
