Thai PCC for Germany from Mae Hong Son — end-to-end workflow
NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) desk for clients lodging in Mae Hong Son, with end-to-end delivery to Germany 🇩🇪. The Thai PCC (issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division) is a mandatory supporting document for almost every long-stay visa, partner / spouse application, employer-sponsored migration, professional licensing and citizenship matter handled by Ausländerbehörde / German Embassy Bangkok.
Mae Hong Son workflow — Most clients in Mae Hong Son cannot travel to the Royal Thai Police HQ in Bangkok for fingerprinting. We send a Por.Or.1 fingerprint kit to the nearest provincial / metropolitan police station, you book a 15-minute appointment to print ten fingers, and our courier returns the kit to our office. From there, the PCC application, translation, notary, MFA and Embassy of Germany authentication all happen under one job number.
Why Deutsch (German) certified translation is required for Germany — Ausländerbehörde / German Embassy Bangkok requires a vereidigter Übersetzer (Sworn Translator in Germany) หรือสถานทูตเยอรมันรับรอง translation of the Thai PCC. We assign the file to a senior translator with at least 8 years of certified-translation experience handling Royal Thai Police documents specifically; a second linguist cross-checks the romanised spelling against the bio-page of your passport before the certification block is sealed.
MFA route — Legalisation — Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. As a Hague member state, Germany now accepts a single Thai MFA Apostille on the certified translation; the previous Embassy-of-Germany legalisation step is no longer required. We walk every file through MFA at Chaeng Watthana ourselves — no third-party agents, no surprise queues.
Validity window — 6 เดือน. We time the MFA submission so the apostilled / legalised PCC lands within the acceptance window of Ausländerbehörde / German Embassy Bangkok. If your visa or licensing timeline shifts, we can re-MFA an existing translation provided the underlying PCC is still inside validity, saving you the cost of a full re-issue.
Typical use cases routed to Germany — Niederlassungserlaubnis (Settlement Permit); Familienzusammenführung (Family Reunion); Blue Card EU; German Citizenship § 10 StAG. Each use case has a slightly different acceptance window and stamp expectation, and we pre-flight every file against the latest Ausländerbehörde / German Embassy Bangkok guidance.
Step-by-step workflow from Mae Hong Son — (1) ขอ PCC ที่แจ้งวัฒนะ; (2) ขอ Apostille ที่กรมการกงสุล (3-5 วัน); (3) ส่งให้ Sworn German Translator (ในไทยหรือเยอรมนี) — 7-10 วัน; (4) ส่ง EMS/DHL หรือ upload Bürgeramt Online.
Working tips for Germany-bound applicants in Mae Hong Son — Send a clear photograph of your passport bio-page on intake so the romanised spelling is locked. Book the fingerprint appointment at your local station early in the week so the kit reaches us by Friday. Tell us the lodgement date in Germany so we backsolve the MFA submission slot. If you need the apostilled / legalised hard-copy delivered overseas, request DHL on intake and we bundle the courier into the quote.
