Thai PCC for Schengen / EU Visa — workflow from Chiang Mai
NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) desk for Chiang Mai clients pursuing the Schengen / EU Visa pathway. The Thai PCC (issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division, Building 24, Royal Thai Police HQ, Rama 1 Road, Bangkok) is one of the most frequently requested supporting documents for Schengen / EU Visa, and each receiving authority applies its own translation, legalisation and validity rules that we have pre-flighted hundreds of times for clients in Chiang Mai.
Chiang Mai → Bangkok workflow — Most clients in Chiang Mai cannot travel to Bangkok HQ just for ten-finger fingerprinting. We send a Form Por.Or.1 fingerprint kit to your nearest Amphoe Mueang police station, you book a 15-minute appointment, and our courier returns the kit to our office in Bangkok. From there PCC issuance, certified English translation, Notary certification, and MFA Apostille (Hague, from 28 February 2027) all happen under one job number — no third-party agents, no extra hand-offs.
Why Schengen / EU Visa files need certified English translation — Foreign authorities and English-language receiving bodies only accept Thai PCCs that have been translated by an officially recognised translator and certified by a competent authority. Our in-house team includes NAATI-credentialed and Notary-certified translators so the certification block matches exactly what EU Embassies expects for the Schengen / EU Visa workflow.
MFA route — MFA Apostille (Hague, from 28 February 2027) — Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. For Schengen / EU Visa files routed to Hague member states, a single Thai MFA Apostille on the certified translation replaces the previous Embassy-of-destination legalisation chain. Every file is walked through MFA at Chaeng Watthana by our own staff.
Working tips for Schengen / EU Visa applicants in Chiang Mai — Send a clear photograph of your passport bio-page on intake so the romanised spelling is locked. Book the fingerprint appointment at your local Amphoe Mueang station early in the week so the kit reaches us by Friday. Tell us your final lodgement date with the receiving authority so we backsolve the MFA submission slot. If you need the apostilled / legalised hard-copy delivered overseas (e.g. to your migration agent, employer HR, university registrar or solicitor abroad), request DHL on intake — international courier is bundled into the quote.
What you receive at the end — One original PCC + certified English translation, fully apostilled, packaged with PDF scans of every page (translator certification, Notary signature, MFA stamp). Delivered to your Chiang Mai address by EMS / Kerry / Flash, or DHL'd direct to your destination country.
Use cases routed through this page — German Work Visa; EU Blue Card; France Long-Stay; Italy Self-Employment; Netherlands Highly Skilled Migrant; Spain Non-Lucrative. The Schengen / EU Visa pathway specifically tends to need a verified Thai PCC + certified translation + MFA Apostille (Hague, from 28 February 2027), all of which we cover end-to-end from Chiang Mai.
Why Chiang Mai clients pick NAATI Thailand — One job number from intake to final delivery, in-house NAATI + Notary + MFA pipeline (no third-party hand-offs), scan-first onboarding via LINE @NAATI, and transparent pricing (quoted on request standard, +quoted on request express). Client cases handled by our in-house team, with dedicated PCC operators who know the Schengen / EU Visa pathway end-to-end.
