What is Witnessing Contracts Service and Why It Matters
Witnessing Contracts Service refers to witnessing of contracts by a Notarial Services Attorney performed by a licensed Notarial Services Attorney (NSA) registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Royal Patronage. The certification gives your document the same legal weight as a Notary Public attestation issued in Common Law jurisdictions, so it can be submitted directly to foreign government agencies, courts, embassies, universities, banks, and contractual counterparts overseas. The core purpose of Notary Public Witness is to confirm the authenticity of the signature, the identity of the signer, and the integrity of the document, preventing forgery and building trust in cross-border transactions. Our NSA team provides an end-to-end workflow that covers document drafting review, formal notarisation, onward MFA Consular Legalization, and Hague Apostille stamping for member states, so both Thai and foreign clients receive documents that are immediately usable abroad without multiple trips.
Step-by-Step Notary Public Witness Process
The witnessing of contracts by a Notarial Services Attorney workflow at NAATI Thailand begins with an appointment via LINE @NAATI or a call to +66 2 114 3563. Our team sends a personalised document checklist and intake forms before your visit. On the appointed day you bring the original document and a valid ID or passport to our Sukhumvit office, or request our Mobile Notary service so the lawyer travels to your hotel, condo, or office anywhere in Bangkok and surrounding provinces. The lawyer verifies your identity, reviews the document with you, then witnesses your signature in person. The attorney then signs, applies the red NSA stamp, and attaches the official Certificate of Notarial Services Attorney with the lawyer's registration number, licence reference, and a unique document control code that can be verified through the Lawyers Council. A digital scan is emailed to you the same day and the original is delivered by courier or EMS.
Document Types Eligible for Notary Public Witness
Our witnessing of contracts by a Notarial Services Attorney service covers a broad range of instruments. Frequently handled examples include Sale and Purchase Agreement / Joint Venture Agreement / Loan Agreement / Share Purchase Agreement and other documents that must be lodged with foreign embassies, ministries of foreign affairs, universities, banks, hospitals, or overseas courts. Our team processes more than 1000 documents per year, so we understand the formatting expectations of destination authorities, for example documents bound for Australia frequently require NAATI translation and JP cosignature, US-bound documents typically require Apostille, and UAE-bound documents require MOFA UAE legalisation after Thai MFA. Our consultants always advise the shortest and most cost-effective routing, and connect you with certified translators and a courier-supported runner service that delivers documents to the Department of Consular Affairs and embassies on your behalf.

Nationwide Coverage: 77 Provinces, 50 Bangkok Districts, BTS/MRT, Flagship Malls
Our flagship office sits in central Bangkok, a short walk from BTS Asoke/Phrom Phong and MRT Sukhumvit, and within easy reach of EmQuartier, Emporium, Terminal 21, Central Embassy, Siam Paragon, ICONSIAM, and CentralWorld. Beyond Bangkok we offer Mobile Notary across the entire Bangkok Metropolitan Region and a Remote-Assist programme that covers all 77 Thai provinces, including Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket, Krabi, Phang Nga, Surat Thani, Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Nakhon Ratchasima, Chonburi, Rayong, Pattaya, Hua Hin, and Hat Yai. The remote workflow uses Kerry/Flash/EMS for original-document transit plus a supervised video-call session with an in-region attorney, so out-of-town clients receive Notary Public Witness with the same legal validity as an in-person visit to our Bangkok office.
End-to-End Legalisation: Translation, MFA, and Apostille
NAATI Thailand operates as a One-Stop Legalisation Hub that pairs Notary Public Witness with certified translation, NAATI translation for documents submitted to Australia's Department of Home Affairs, MFA Consular Legalization, and Hague Apostille services now that Thailand has acceded to the Hague Convention in 2024. Clients submit a single package and receive a fully legalised set ready for overseas filing, which cuts total processing time by 40-60% compared with using multiple vendors. Our coordination desk designs a tailored Document Routing Plan: Thailand → MFA → Apostille for Hague member states, or Thailand → MFA → destination embassy for non-member states, ensuring the file is accepted on first submission.
