Thai PCC for Canada from Chiang Mai — end-to-end workflow
NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) desk for clients lodging in Chiang Mai, with end-to-end delivery to Canada 🇨🇦. The Thai PCC (issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division) is a mandatory supporting document for almost every long-stay visa, partner / spouse application, employer-sponsored migration, professional licensing and citizenship matter handled by IRCC — Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.
Chiang Mai workflow — Most clients in Chiang Mai cannot travel to the Royal Thai Police HQ in Bangkok for fingerprinting. We send a Por.Or.1 fingerprint kit to the nearest provincial / metropolitan police station, you book a 15-minute appointment to print ten fingers, and our courier returns the kit to our office. From there, the PCC application, translation, notary, MFA all happen under one job number.
Why English หรือ French certified translation is required for Canada — IRCC — Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada requires a Certified Translator + Affidavit of Translation translation of the Thai PCC. We assign the file to a senior translator with at least 8 years of certified-translation experience handling Royal Thai Police documents specifically; a second linguist cross-checks the romanised spelling against the bio-page of your passport before the certification block is sealed.
MFA route — Apostille (Hague Convention) — Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. As a Hague member state, Canada now accepts a single Thai MFA Apostille on the certified translation; the previous Embassy-of-Canada legalisation step is no longer required. We walk every file through MFA at Chaeng Watthana ourselves — no third-party agents, no surprise queues.
Validity window — 6 เดือน (ตั้งแต่ออก ถึงวันที่ IRCC ขอ). We time the MFA submission so the apostilled / legalised PCC lands within the acceptance window of IRCC — Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada. If your visa or licensing timeline shifts, we can re-MFA an existing translation provided the underlying PCC is still inside validity, saving you the cost of a full re-issue.
Typical use cases routed to Canada — Express Entry (FSW, FST, CEC); Provincial Nominee Program (PNP); Spousal/Partner Sponsorship; Study Permit (บางกรณี); Citizenship Application. Each use case has a slightly different acceptance window and stamp expectation, and we pre-flight every file against the latest IRCC — Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada guidance.
Step-by-step workflow from Chiang Mai — (1) ทีมขอ PCC + แปลทั้งภาษาอังกฤษและฝรั่งเศส (สำหรับ Quebec); (2) Notary Public รับรอง Affidavit of Translation; (3) (ทางเลือก) ขอ Apostille; (4) ส่ง EMS + scan PDF ให้ลูกค้า upload PR Portal.
Working tips for Canada-bound applicants in Chiang Mai — Send a clear photograph of your passport bio-page on intake so the romanised spelling is locked. Book the fingerprint appointment at your local station early in the week so the kit reaches us by Friday. Tell us the lodgement date in Canada so we backsolve the MFA submission slot. If you need the apostilled / legalised hard-copy delivered overseas, request DHL on intake and we bundle the courier into the quote.
