Do I need to travel to Bangkok from Samut Songkhram to obtain the Thai PCC?

No. Fingerprints can be taken locally at the Samut Songkhram provincial police station on Form Por.Or.1, then couriered to the Royal Thai Police HQ in Bangkok. We coordinate the courier and pickup so you never leave Samut Songkhram. Foreign applicants typically lodge fingerprints at their nearest Thai consulate or local police station, then send to us by DHL.

What's the total cost for a Thai PCC bound for Hong Kong from Samut Songkhram?

price on request end-to-end. This includes the PCC application fee, certified translation into English / Chinese, Notary Public certification of the translator's signature, MFA legalisation stamps. Domestic courier to Samut Songkhram is included; international DHL is quoted separately.

How long is a Thai PCC valid for Hong Kong?

6-12 เดือนนับจากวันออก. We always confirm the validity window with the receiving authority (Hong Kong Immigration Department) at intake — universities, immigration and employers in Hong Kong sometimes interpret the window differently. We time the MFA submission so the certificate lands fresh in your hands for the actual lodgement date in Hong Kong.

Why is Notarised + Apostille translation required for Hong Kong?

Hong Kong Immigration Department only accepts Thai PCCs that have been translated by an officially recognised translator and certified by a competent authority. For Hong Kong the accepted certifier is "Notarised + Apostille". Our in-house team includes sworn / accredited translators so the certification block matches exactly what Hong Kong Immigration Department expects.

Can my employer or migration agent in Hong Kong receive the final package?

Yes. We can DHL the apostilled / legalised hard-copy directly to your migration agent, employer HR, university registrar or solicitor in Hong Kong; or to your home address in Samut Songkhram. PDF scan of the full package is emailed on the same day MFA releases the file.

Thai PCC for Hong Kong from Samut Songkhram — end-to-end workflow

NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) desk for clients lodging in Samut Songkhram, with end-to-end delivery to Hong Kong 🇭🇰. The Thai PCC (issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division) is a mandatory supporting document for almost every long-stay visa, partner / spouse application, employer-sponsored migration, professional licensing and citizenship matter handled by Hong Kong Immigration Department.

Samut Songkhram workflow — Most clients in Samut Songkhram cannot travel to the Royal Thai Police HQ in Bangkok for fingerprinting. We send a Por.Or.1 fingerprint kit to the nearest provincial / metropolitan police station, you book a 15-minute appointment to print ten fingers, and our courier returns the kit to our office. From there, the PCC application, translation, notary, MFA all happen under one job number.

Why English / Chinese certified translation is required for Hong Kong — Hong Kong Immigration Department requires a Notarised + Apostille translation of the Thai PCC. We assign the file to a senior translator with at least 8 years of certified-translation experience handling Royal Thai Police documents specifically; a second linguist cross-checks the romanised spelling against the bio-page of your passport before the certification block is sealed.

MFA route — Apostille (Hague Convention) — Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. As a Hague member state, Hong Kong now accepts a single Thai MFA Apostille on the certified translation; the previous Embassy-of-Hong Kong legalisation step is no longer required. We walk every file through MFA at Chaeng Watthana ourselves — no third-party agents, no surprise queues.

Validity window — 6-12 เดือนนับจากวันออก. We time the MFA submission so the apostilled / legalised PCC lands within the acceptance window of Hong Kong Immigration Department. If your visa or licensing timeline shifts, we can re-MFA an existing translation provided the underlying PCC is still inside validity, saving you the cost of a full re-issue.

Typical use cases routed to Hong Kong — Skilled Migration; Spousal Visa; Work Visa; Permanent Residence. Each use case has a slightly different acceptance window and stamp expectation, and we pre-flight every file against the latest Hong Kong Immigration Department guidance.

Step-by-step workflow from Samut Songkhram — (1) ขอ Thai PCC ที่ Royal Thai Police (Phaholyothin); (2) MFA Apostille; (3) Certified Translation; (4) ส่งหน่วยงานปลายทาง.

Working tips for Hong Kong-bound applicants in Samut Songkhram — Send a clear photograph of your passport bio-page on intake so the romanised spelling is locked. Book the fingerprint appointment at your local station early in the week so the kit reaches us by Friday. Tell us the lodgement date in Hong Kong so we backsolve the MFA submission slot. If you need the apostilled / legalised hard-copy delivered overseas, request DHL on intake and we bundle the courier into the quote.
