How do I apostille a Thai Birth Certificate for Colombia?
NAATI Thailand handles the full Thai-Apostille workflow for the Birth Certificate destined for Colombia 🇨🇴: (1) certified translation by a registered translator into สเปน (Colombian), (2) Notary Public certification of the translator's signature, (3) MFA legalization at the Department of Consular Affairs (Chaeng Watthana). Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027, until then, embassy legalisation may still be required for Colombia — confirm the current chain with the receiving authority. Package quoted on request, turnaround 5–7 วันทำการ. Scan-first via LINE @NAATI from anywhere in Thailand or overseas.

Birth Certificate Apostille for Colombia — end-to-end workflow
NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Apostille desk for the Thai Birth Certificate (issued by District Office / Registry), with end-to-end delivery to Colombia 🇨🇴. We translate, notarise and walk the file through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at Chaeng Watthana under one job number — the workflow most consulates, universities and immigration officers in Colombia expect to see.
Why Apostille (not Embassy Legalisation) for Colombia — Thailand deposited its instrument of accession to the Hague Apostille Convention on 30 June 2026, with entry into force for Thailand on 28 February 2027. Colombia is a Hague member, which means a single Thai MFA legalization stamp replaces the previous Embassy-of-Colombia legalisation step. The chain is shorter, the cost is lower, and the apostille is internationally verifiable from a register number.
Certified translation requirement — Receiving authorities in Colombia require the Birth Certificate in สเปน (Colombian). The translation must be performed by a Traductor Oficial (MinJusticia) + Apostille. We allocate the job to a senior translator with at least 8 years of certified-translation experience; the file is bilingually proofread by a second linguist before notarisation.
Document preparation before MFA — ขอคัดสำเนาทะเบียนคนเกิดใหม่ + แปลภาษาอังกฤษ + Notary. MFA ขอสำเนาที่ออกใหม่ภายใน 6 เดือน. We confirm the romanised spelling of your name against your passport bio-page in writing before drafting, so the apostilled translation matches every other Colombia-side filing (visa, civil registry, university, professional council).
Typical use cases in Colombia — ขอสัญชาติบุตร; ลงทะเบียนเรียนต่างประเทศ; ขอวีซ่าครอบครัว; Marriage Registration; Spouse Visa; Student Visa. We have routed Birth Certificate apostille files to Colombia for partner / family visas, study, work permits, marriage registration, citizenship by descent, civil-status updates, and corporate / banking matters.
Why receiving authorities accept our package — Each apostilled bundle leaves our chambers with: original Thai document (or certified true copy), certified สเปน (Colombian) translation on letterhead with translator's signature and stamp, Notary Public seal certifying the translator's signature, MFA legalization on the translation (and original where required), and a numbered certificate of accuracy. This is the exact stack Colombia consulates, civil registries and the receiving authority routinely accept.
Working tips for Colombia-bound clients — Send the sharpest scan you can (300 dpi or better, all four corners visible). Tell us the receiving authority by name so we can pick the correct certification template. Allow 5–7 วันทำการ for the full chain. If you need an apostilled hard-copy delivered overseas, request DHL on intake and we will bundle the courier into the quote.
