What is a Notarized Tax Declaration & Foreign Tax Residency Certificate in Thailand?
A notarized Tax Declaration & Foreign Tax Residency Certificate in Thailand is a private legal instrument signed before a Notarial Services Attorney — a Thai-licensed lawyer registered with the Lawyers Council of Thailand under the Notarial Services Attorney Regulation B.E. 2546 (2003). Unlike civil-law countries that use government notaries, Thailand delegates notarial functions to specially trained attorneys, whose seal and signature are recognised by Thai authorities, foreign embassies, and apostille-issuing offices around the world.
For ชาวต่างชาติยื่น tax residency ในไทย/ต่างประเทศ; นักลงทุนต้องการขอเครดิตภาษีตาม dta; บริษัทไทยส่งเงินปันผลออกนอกประเทศ; ผู้ขอ long-term resident visa, a properly executed Tax Declaration & Foreign Tax Residency Certificate is the gateway document to nearly every cross-border transaction. Whether you are submitting paperwork to IRS USA (Form W-8BEN/8233), HMRC UK, ATO Australia, CRA Canada, BOI/Revenue Department, ธนาคารต่างประเทศ, the notarial seal is the single piece of evidence that proves your signature is genuine, that you appeared in person, and that you understood the document's contents at the time of signing. Without this seal, foreign authorities will reject your file outright.
NAATI Thailand has been providing notarisation services for English-speaking residents and visitors in Thailand (nationwide) since 2014. Our notarial attorneys hold continuous Lawyers Council registration, carry professional indemnity insurance up to quoted on request per matter, and maintain bilingual workflows so that every certificate, oath, affirmation, or acknowledgment is drafted in plain English alongside Thai — eliminating translation ambiguity downstream.

From document drafting to final notarial certification, the standard turnaround in Thailand (nationwide) is 1 วันทำการ. Mobile notarisation — where our attorney travels to your home, hotel, condominium, or office — is available 24/7 with a service fee quoted on request within the inner-Bangkok zone and scaling to quoted on request for outer districts and provincial trips. The base notarial fee for a Tax Declaration & Foreign Tax Residency Certificate is price on request, and this includes the attorney's appearance, the notarial certificate in English, ribbon-and-eyelet binding, and a digitally signed PDF copy delivered by email within four hours of completion.
For clients planning to use the document outside Thailand, we coordinate the downstream MFA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) legalisation at Chaeng Watthana — typically 1 to 3 business days — and, where required, the destination embassy's authentication. Our end-to-end "Notary → MFA → Embassy → Courier" package eliminates queue time entirely; you simply approve the draft, attend the signature ceremony in Thailand (nationwide), and receive the fully executed bundle by EMS, Kerry, or DHL anywhere in the world.
These mistakes account for nearly 40% of the rejected files we see when clients arrive after a botched first attempt with another provider. Our pre-signature checklist — sent automatically the day before your appointment — confirms passport validity (six months minimum), spelling of names exactly as in your travel document, full destination address, and all reference numbers (deeds, vehicle registration, account numbers) needed to give the document legal effect.
