Thai PCC for Australia from Chiang Mai — end-to-end workflow
NAATI Thailand operates a dedicated Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) desk for clients lodging in Chiang Mai, with end-to-end delivery to Australia 🇦🇺. The Thai PCC (issued by the Royal Thai Police Criminal Records Division) is a mandatory supporting document for almost every long-stay visa, partner / spouse application, employer-sponsored migration, professional licensing and citizenship matter handled by Department of Home Affairs (DOHA).
Chiang Mai workflow — Most clients in Chiang Mai cannot travel to the Royal Thai Police HQ in Bangkok for fingerprinting. We send a Por.Or.1 fingerprint kit to the nearest provincial / metropolitan police station, you book a 15-minute appointment to print ten fingers, and our courier returns the kit to our office. From there, the PCC application, translation, notary, MFA all happen under one job number.
Why English certified translation is required for Australia — Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) requires a NAATI-Certified Translator (Thai → English) translation of the Thai PCC. We assign the file to a senior translator with at least 8 years of certified-translation experience handling Royal Thai Police documents specifically; a second linguist cross-checks the romanised spelling against the bio-page of your passport before the certification block is sealed.
MFA route — Standard MFA — We submit your file under the standard MFA channel and confirm the exact stamp configuration Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) expects. We walk every file through MFA at Chaeng Watthana ourselves — no third-party agents, no surprise queues.
Validity window — 12 เดือนนับจากวันที่ออก. We time the MFA submission so the apostilled / legalised PCC lands within the acceptance window of Department of Home Affairs (DOHA). If your visa or licensing timeline shifts, we can re-MFA an existing translation provided the underlying PCC is still inside validity, saving you the cost of a full re-issue.
Typical use cases routed to Australia — Subclass 189/190/491 Skilled Migration; Subclass 309/100, 820/801 Partner Visa; Subclass 186/187 Employer Sponsored; Subclass 500 Student (บางสาขา); Citizenship by Conferral. Each use case has a slightly different acceptance window and stamp expectation, and we pre-flight every file against the latest Department of Home Affairs (DOHA) guidance.
Step-by-step workflow from Chiang Mai — (1) Health & Character.
Working tips for Australia-bound applicants in Chiang Mai — Send a clear photograph of your passport bio-page on intake so the romanised spelling is locked. Book the fingerprint appointment at your local station early in the week so the kit reaches us by Friday. Tell us the lodgement date in Australia so we backsolve the MFA submission slot. If you need the apostilled / legalised hard-copy delivered overseas, request DHL on intake and we bundle the courier into the quote.
